The man was trying to get off the train at London's Monument station when he thought someone was blocking his way
A commuter who swore at a man on the train was left regretting his rush of blood after turning up for a job interview only to find the same person was head of recruitment.
The bungling passenger was on his way to an interview with venture capital firm Forward Partners on Monday morning when he became rather agitated.
As the unnamed man raced to get off at Monument station on London’s Tube network, he thought a fellow passenger was in his way so barged past and told him to “f*** himself”.
A few hours later, the man walked in for an interview at the firm and was greeted by head of talent Matt Buckland – the same person from the train.
Posting on Twitter, Mr Buckland revealed that the commuter did not recognise him at first, and so he asked him a few tube-related questions until the penny dropped.
Mr Buckland said: “Karma - the guy who pushed past me on the tube and then suggested I go F myself just arrived for his interview...with me...”
When asked later what happened, he added: "I hinted at it and eventually he realised.
"Laughed it off and carried on.
"The tube makes everyone cranky :)"
Despite his gracious nature, Mr Buckland did not give the man the job, but stressed this was not down to the earlier interaction but that “He wasn't right for the role.”
