Expert admits it could be an alien language or simply jibberish
The clear photo focuses on the odd dot and dash formation that is said could represent Morse code.
The images were sent to SecureTeam10 , a group of UFO experts who analysed the footage and shared their findings online.
Tyler from the YouTube channel said conspiracy theorists have been thrown into overdrive over the strange new image of the Hagal Dune field just south of Mars’ north polar cap.
He said: "Nasa spotted this strange configuration of lines and dots in the sand of Mars which look eerily similar to Morse code.
"These strange series of photos, came out looking to show what looked like, some sort of Morse code etched into the surface in the sands of Mars.
"Which obviously has sent people into conspiracy theory overdrive."
The lines have been translated into English but Tyler admits it simply produced a line of jibberish, although he admitted it could be an alien language.
He added: "Obviously I don't think it's likely that aliens are writing secret messages into th soils on Mars, nonetheless the reason I wanted to show you guys this is simply because of the beautiful imagery captured in these Martian dunes.
"Nasa really does not grasp how these strange, what look like messages, have been made."
