The tanned 55-year-old put his troubles behind him for a fun-filled weekend in Instanbul this weekend
Short and sweet are probably not the words often associated with former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson, but that's exactly what his little trip to Istanbul was.
The beleaguered presenter was spotted arriving back at London's Heathrow airport this evening after a weekend in Turkey.
Clarkson appeared to put his sacking and nasty assault on TV producer Oisin Tymon behind him as he went away, also skipping the country as he opened up about the Top Gear fracas for the first time.
Clarkson, who was joined by his close friend Phillipa Sage for the opening of the new Soho House in Turkey, was sporting a bit of a tan as he emerged in the arrivals lounge.
He also travelled light, with just a few bits of hand luggage for the journey.
Clarkson, who is currently going through a divorce, revealed in a Sunday Times article that he was racked by cancer fears when he caused the ‘fracas’ that led to his producer ending up in hospital.
The former host, who was given the all clear just two days ago, according to reports, said he feared the worst when he discovered a lump on his tongue just two days before the infamous argument in a hotel which saw him punch a colleague.
He wrote: “Two days before the fracas I had been told worryingly by my doctor that the lump on my tongue was possibly cancer and that I must get it checked out immediately but I couldn’t do that.
“We were in the middle of a Top Gear series and Top Gear always came first.
“It turned out to be worrying at the time, but not worrying when it was all checked.”
Speaking about the day of the fracas he added: “That was the most stressful day I have ever had in 27 years at the BBC. It was beyond belief stressful, everything was going wrong.”
