Troubled One Direction star Zayn Malik jetted into Britain and spent five hours in discussions with his fiancee Perrie Edwards.
Though the Little Mix singer left their £2.2million home in Barnet, North London, looking glumly out of her car window, she was still wearing her engagement ring.
And sources close to the couple insisted their four-year relationship was “fine”, adding: “They both still live there.”
Zayn, 22, dramatically touched down at 4.15am at Heathrow – and raced home.
The couple spent five hours at their Barnet home together, after he arrived at 5am on Friday morning to discuss quitting the band’s global tour through stress.
He had left 1D’s Far East tour after being pictured with his arm around Phuket clubber Lauren Richardson.
Another photograph appeared to show the singer holding the blonde’s hand.
The singer has been signed off with stress following the incident.
A band spokesman said: “Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying to the UK to recuperate.
"The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”
Zayn will miss tonight’s gig in the Philippines along with two other dates – but it is hoped he will return for the group’s performances in South Africa next Saturday.
The 1D management are said to be giving the star as much time as he needs to recover.
Zayn was forced last year to pull out of appearances citing illness.
Today show host Matt Lauer questioned whether his illness was due to “substance abuse”, after Zayn was filmed apparently smoking cannabis while on tour in Peru.
Perrie, 21, and Zayn’s relationship was rocked in 2013 when waitress Courtney Webb claimed she had slept with him.
