Tragic: Austen Harrison died after a mirror fell on him in Hugo Boss at Bicester Shopping Village

A four-year-old boy was crushed to death when a 19-stone mirror fell on top of him at a prestigious designer store.
Austen Harrison was shopping with his dad when the huge mirror toppled on top of him inside Hugo Boss at the Bicester Village shopping complex near Oxford.
Little Austen, from Crawley, West Sussex, suffered massive head injuries and died four days later in hospital.
An inquest into his death heard how Austen's dad Simon had taken Austen to the shopping centre - a favourite haunt of Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton - to try on suits when the tragedy happened.
In a statement read before Oxfordshire Coroners Court, Mr Harrison said he had briefly looked away when he heard a massive bang and turned back to see the mirror on top of his son.
He said: "I was walking towards my wife Irina to choose a tie and Austen was behind me near the winged mirror. I heard a quick loud sudden bang, but no sound of breaking glass.
"I heard someone gasp and I looked and saw the mirror had fallen over. I knew Austen was underneath it as it was not lying flat to the floor."

Injuries: Austen Harrison died in hospital four days after suffering major head trauma

The court was told the mirror was not fixed to the wall as it should have been and that Austen was playing with two winged sections of the frame when it toppled over.
Mr Harrison, a mechanical aerospace engineer and consultant, lifted the mirror off his son and an off-duty doctor battled to keep him alive until paramedics arrived.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after the incident, which happened at around 8.30pm on June 4, 2013, but died four days later from head injuries.
Christina Davies, the off-duty doctor, said in a statement that Mr Harrison was holding tissues to his son's head. She found his pulse and tried to keep him stable until paramedics arrived.
Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter said: "He had been shopping at Hugo Boss in Bicester Village when a large heavy mirror in the fitting room fell on him and knocked him to the floor. He suffered a severe head injury which proved to be unsurvivable.

Scene: Paramedics were called to Hugo Boss at Bicester Shopping Village but Austen died four days later

"The mirror was designed to be fixed to the wall and not freestanding."
The inquest heard the mirror was two metres tall and one-and-a-half centimetres wide with a large centre panel and two hinged wings on either side.
The Health and Safety Executive found no evidence of wall fixings on the back of the main mirror or the wings and an investigation found that if the wings were opened outwards, even slightly, it would cause the mirror to rock forward.
The inquest continues.
