Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas takes his £70,000 Mercedes for a spin

The 30-year-old actor was declared bankrupt in October 2013

Corrie actor Ryan Thomas has been pictured taking his gleaming £70,000 Mercedes out for a spin.

Back in 2013, it emerged Thomas owed £40,000 in unpaid tax.

It's unclear if the star, who's reported to earn around £90,000 per episode of the long-running soap, still currently owes money to the tax man.

Dressed in a black fur-lined jacket, sunglasses, a maroon sweater and jeans, the 30-year-old looked happy and relaxed as he got into his pricey white motor in Manchester.

Soon after news emerged about his money woes, he broke his silence to thank close friends for their support.

He told his caring pals via Twitter: “I’m so lucky to have so many special people in my life, u know who u are love u all so much xxx."

Last month it was also reported that the star was set to make £2,000 for a gig at a Yates' bar where he was responsible for mixing cocktails and greeting fans.

A flier for the club night at Yates' in Preston, Lancashire read: "Ryan Thomas - aka Jason from Coronation Street. Live behind the bar shaking some cocktails!"

While a source told The Sun: "Ryan is desperate to pay off his debt and is working hard away from Corrie to get the cash. He is getting there and confident he will pay off the taxman in the next few months. He was declared bankrupt after investments let him down."
