Robin van Persie's Manchester United career is at an end because he feels humiliated by his treatment by former cohort Louis van Gaal. But the Red Devils have completed the signing of Matteo Darmian and agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for Bastian Schweinsteiger. Plus there's interest in a goalkeeper.
Elsewhere, Fabian Delph has called off a proposed move to Manchester City, Liverpool are on the tail of Real Madrid's Denis Cheryshev and Newcastle are closing in on striker Alexandar Mitrovic.

Keane to return to the Premier League?
Martin O'Neill will ask Roy Keane to move with him if he’s offered the chance to make an emotional return to Leicester City. The 63-year-old, a legend with Foxes fans after twice winning the League Cup with the club in the 1990s, has been identified by the owners as the first choice to replace Nigel Pearson.
Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri is also on the short list, but Leicester believe the financial backing they can offer will be enough to tempt O’Neill to quit his job as Republic of Ireland boss and return to club management.
Sources at the Republic of Ireland FA have made it clear they won’t stand in his way, so he could be in charge in time to join the club’s training camp in Austria later this week.
Some FAI committee members would fancy promoting O’Neill’s assistant Keane to the top job, but others would prefer a fresh start after a disappointing campaign that has left them struggling to qualify for Euro 2016.
O’Neill will want his trusted coach Steve Walford on his back room team, but has enjoyed working with Keane, who would relish day-to-day involvement in the game again.

Hull eye three strikers
Manchester United youngster Wilson is his No.1 target but Bruce has so far received no response from Louis van Gaal to his request to take the 19-year-old on a season-long loan.
The Dutch coach has already rejected the chance to re-sign Radamel Falcao on a permanent deal and is set to sell Robin van Persie, leaving him down to just two strikers in Wayne Rooney and Wilson.
However, he is preparing to strengthen his attacking options and will take a decision on Wilson once he knows who is on his way to United.
Birmingham winger Demarai Gray is another target for Bruce. The Hull boss is ready to splash out around £6million for the 19-year-old. Liverpool and Newcastle are also both keen, but Gray wants to play regular first-team football.
Andre Gray is also on Bruce’s radar but Brentford are refusing to accept less than £6m, and that fee could deter the Tigers from bidding for the 24-year-old striker.

Tottenham to go for James McCarthy
Tottenham are preparing a bid for Everton midfielder James McCarthy. It was revealed by Sunday Mirror Sport in April that McCarthy is frustrated by the fact he has not been offered a new contract at Goodison Park, which had been promised on the back of great form.
The player is believed to be willing to listen to offers from elsewhere now, and Spurs are primed to make their move for a man valued at around £20million.
They have monitored his progress closely over the past year and are expected to lodge a formal offer in the next fortnight.
Their bid could include the option of Aaron Lennon moving in the opposite direction.
Manchester City are also interested in signing McCarthy, and could make a move once Spurs open the bidding.

Liverpool in for Real Madrid man
Real Madrid are considering a £22m offer from Liverpool for winger Denis Cheryshev, writes Neil Moxley for the Sunday People.Rafael Benitez has received a bid from the Reds for the Russian flier and will discuss the matter with his bosses at the Bernebeu.
Cheryshev, 24, is surplus amid the glut of stars that Benitez is now working with - and it is likely that he will cash in.
The Russian international spent last season on loan at Villarreal and the Spanish club are keen to take him back again.
However, Los Blancos would prefer a straight cash deal as Rodgers buys his insurance prior to any potential movement involving Raheem Sterling.
That could free up Jordan Ibe for another loan move - the winger agreed a new five-year deal this summer but will find himself surplus if Cheryshev’s deal gets the green light.

Robin van Persie exit draws near
Back to Manchester United now and news that Robin van Persie will leave the club feeling he has been betrayed by Louis van Gaal. The Dutch striker is joining Fenerbahce in a £4.7million deal after being ordered by Van Gaal to train on his own while the rest of his Old Trafford team-mates took part in a full-scale practise match at Carrington on Tuesday.
It was the moment that the 31-year-old knew his time with United was over.
Within hours, Van Persie had instructed his agent to accept a lucrative three-year contract offer from Fenerbahce. The £240,000-a-week wages, though, will do nothing to ease his sense of humiliation at the hands of a manager he had come to regard as a friend.
The pair became close when Van Gaal took over as Holland coach and made the striker his captain.
More on that story here.

Stevie G in da USA
One of the biggest moved this summer was Steven Gerrard's switch from his beloved Liverpool to LA Galaxy in the MLS.Gerrard made his LA Galaxy debut last night playing the first half for his new team against Mexican side Club America.
It was the first time in his 17 year career he had stepped out in a club jersey that wasn't a Liverpool one, however in just 45 minutes he showed off early signs of the class that made him a Merseyside icon.
As his name was called out during the team announcement, there were roars from the 27,934 sell out crowd at LA Galaxy's StubHub Center stadium.
It was apparent that he was popular with the fans even before he kicked a ball during the match which saw his new team win 2-1 in the International Champions Cup.
On the 21st minute, Gerrard, 35, almost gave them something to cheer even louder for, as well as cement himself a dream California debut when he burst into the penalty box in his trademark fashion only to be denied by a terrific save by Club America's goalkeeper, Hugo Gonzalez.
