Ella Williamson treated her run-down Peugeot so badly her step dad James Baggott described it as 'a petri dish of McDonald's infested filth'
Ella Williamson treated her mould-encrusted, litter-strewn Peugeot so badly her step dad James Baggott put it up as a free competition prize to get rid of the festering run down motor.
Ella, 20, abandoned the Peugeot 307 with 91k on the clock in a car park before setting of to study at the University of Brighton.
Mr Baggott was shocked by the state of the car, which has a value of around £1,000, that he decided to write an advert to see if anyone would take it off his hands.
James, editor of SuperUnleaded motoring website, decided to put it up as a competition prize.
His stepdaughter is not amused that newspapers across the UK have picked up on the story.
He told Mirror Online: "When I spoke to her she used a lot of swear words.
"The worst thing is that car has been actually been cleaned. We had a work experience lad in and he removed the worst of it.
"At Easter I told Ella to clean it so I could sell it and give her the money but she couldn't get out of bed before 5pm so I'm giving it away.
What does Ella's mum think of it?
"She can't stop laughing. For years she's had to tidy up after herso naming and shaming her is a good way to treat her a lesson."
In a post about the competition, Mr Baggott wrote: "Just how badly do you treat your car? I bet it isn't as bad as this stinking, petri dish of McDonald's infested filth my step daughter calls her wheels.
"She has left her car in our car park and I decided to give it away before it makes me throw up a bit in my mouth.
"To be honest we were tempted to burn it with fire. Or donate it to science for research purposes - because we're pretty sure some of the mould could be weaponised.
"But then we thought what if someone wants it?
"If you win it, you come get it and take it away. Just wear gloves. And a Hazmat suit.”
The witty advert on the motoring website comically notes the car has a new battery and can still be driven as it managed to make it from one side of the car park to the other - just.
The 'golden' vehicle is stated to have Peugeot's magical colour changing paintwork as the door handles and bonnet have been painted in a different shade.
The interior is stained with marks and cobwebs and mould has grown near the hand break and gear box.
James added: "We thought it would be funny to see if anyone wanted it.
"All people have to do is like the company's Facebook page and the post and we will get back in contact.
"However I am sure that you would rather have an STI rather than take this car.
"There is some sort of stuff growing in the footwell and it has a few battle scars.
"Ella had a habit or parking it in wall, trees and shopping trolleys.
"It also hasn't been clean so you might find spiders and poo but the winner can keep them both."
