Controversy: Ms Mustafa claims to have received abuse online after being vocal about her views

A student diversity officer could lose her job after provoking fury with several controversial tweets and calling one person 'white trash'.
Bahar Mustafa, 27, who is responsible for promoting equal rights, is also accused of using the hashtag "#killallwhitemen" and "inciting hatred based on an individual's race."
The damning accusations were made in a student petition to call 'a vote of no confidence' - which she claims would dismiss her from the full-time position at Goldsmiths University, London.
The former student, who recently graduated with an MA in gender and media studies, was previously accused of banning 'all white men' from a student rally to celebrate equality.

Ms Mustafa issued a statement apologising for using the phrase 'white trash' but said the Twitter hashtags were "in-jokes and ways that many people in the queer feminist community express ourselves."

She added: "It's a way of reclaiming the power from the trauma many of us experience as queers, women, people of colour, who are on the receiving end of racism, misogyny and homophobia daily.
"However, in regards to calling someone 'white trash' under my official twitter account, I can accept that it was not professional and I do apologise for this."

The petition posted on the Goldsmiths University Students' Union website states: "Students have come forward who do not believe that the current Welfare and Diversity Officer can represent the student body.
"They believe that she has refused to represent students unless they agree with her actions and beliefs, and has frequently spread anger and hatred instead of providing unbiased welfare support.
"The current Welfare and Diversity Officer has used hate speech based on race and gender, for example the consistent use of hashtags such as #killallwhitemen and #misandry, and publicly calling someone 'white trash' under the official GSU Twitter account."
Outspoken Mustafa's controversial viewpoints have sparked fury online and she has since deleted her Twitter account.
She said: "Since the media storm, I have received death and rape threats, racial and gendered abuse, and had journalists from right-wing publications come to my home where my family live.
"I hope my work so far has proven my commitment to challenging the dominant systems that put barriers in the way of education.
"I am always happy to listen, to be open and importantly, to learn."
The Mirror has approached Ms Mustafa for a comment.
