The Faulty Towers actor has joined the BBC One soap for a 'couple of episodes' beginning next week
Andrew Sachs ' EastEnders role has been revealed.
The Fauly Towers actor - who has joined the BBC One soap for a 'couple of episodes'- will feature in Timothy West's exit storyline as Carter patriarch Stan succumbs to his illness and dies.
All that's known of Sachs' character so far is that he is named Cyril and will be his hospital roomate.
His first scene will air on Tuesday March 17 on BBC One at 7.30pm.
It's not the first time the actor has appeared in soapland. Back in 2009, he played Norris Cole's half-brother Ramsay Clegg in Coronation Street.
Known for playing the disaster-prone Manuel alongside John Cleese in the 1970s sitcom, the actor will now find himself in an amongst the turmoil suffered by the Albert Square residents in the East End of London.
The 84-year-old actor hit the headlines back in 2008 after Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left lewd messages on his answering machine.
