Two police officers have been shot at a freedom of speech event at a cafe in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
Lord Mayor of Copenhagen 'horrified and deeply affected' by shooting
The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen has spoken out following the cafe shooting.
He wrote on Twitter: "I am horrified and deeply affected by the shooting at Krudttønden.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."
Cafe event was held to mark the anniversary of the fatwa against controversial author Salman Rushdie
Today's event at the Krudttonden cafe was being held to marking the anniversary of the fatwa against The Satanic Verses author Salman Rushdie.
The meeting was titled Art, Blasphemy And The Freedom Of Expression.
One man has died and three police officers have been injured.
Confirmed: Danish man, 40, was killed in shooting
Police have confirmed that the person who died in the cafe shooting was a 40-year-old Danish man.
Three police officers were hurt, but not critically.
They have been taken to hospital.

The man was one of three cops injured in today's shooting in central Copenhagen.
The gunmen remain at large.
Report: Gunmen are Danish-speaking
The suspects in the cafe shooting are Danish-speaking, according to tabloid newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
Police have yet to confirm the number of shooters but there are reports that two gunmen fled in a dark-coloured VW Polo.
One person has been confirmed dead and three cops were injured.

According to the French ambassador to Denmark, who was inside the venue at the time of the shooting, the attackers didn't manage to enter the cafe - instead opening fire through the glass.

French ambassador: 'There were at least 50 gunshots. It's still dangerous.'
The French ambassador to Denmark, Francois Zimeray, has been speaking about the attack.
He said: "They fired on us from the outside.
"It was the same intention as (the January 7 attack on) Charlie Hebdo except they didn't manage to get in.
"Intuitively I would say there were at least 50 gunshots, and the police here are saying 200.
"Bullets went through the doors and everyone threw themselves to the floor.
"We managed to flee the room, and now we're staying inside because it's still dangerous.
"The attackers haven't been caught and they could very well still be in the neighbourhood."

Danish police have confirmed that one civilian has been shot dead and that three police officers have been injured.
However the exact number of shooters remains unclear.
Copenhagen's TV 2 News tweeted: "Confirmed by Danish police: One civilian dead.
"Three police officers wounded.
"One or two suspects at large."
Registration plate of wanted VW polo released
Cops are searching for a dark-coloured VW Polo, registration number AT 25 919.
Danish journalist Kaare Sorensen wrote on Twitter: "WANTED IN COPENHAGEN: Police are looking for a VW Polo with registration AT 25 919 after shots fired on Osterbro".
Osterbro is an area in the centre of Copenhagen.

In 2007, he drew an image of Prophet Muhammad as a dog on a traffic circle.
Following this, Al Qaeda in Iraq placed a $150,000 bounty on his head, and protests broke out across the Middle East.
Asa a result of the threats, he has to be protected by bodyguards.
He was not injured in today's attack.

The French ambassador to Denmark was at the cafe when the gunmen opened fire.
Francois Zimeray was not hurt in the attack.
He wrote on Twitter: "Still alive in the room."
Report: One civilian dead, two police officers hurt and two gunmen at large
There are reports that one civilian has been killed in the shooting.
Two police officers have been hurt and it is now understood that there were TWO gunmen, both of whom remain at large, reports TV2 news.
The shooters are believed to have fled the scene of the atrocity in a dark VW polo.

Two police officers have been shot at a freedom of speech event at a cafe in the Danish capital Copenhagen.
At least one gunman fired "about 30 shots" at the Art, Blasphemy and Freedom of Expression event, which was attended by a famous cartoonist who drew the Prophet Muhammad as a dog.
Swedish cartoonist and historian Lars Vilks was not wounded in the attack, which took place shortly after 3.30pm.
Satire researcher Dennis Meyhoff Brink was present at the event.
He said: "Just after 3:30 pm - the French ambassador had just spoken - we heard shots from the hall .
"Some runs (sic) out, but I dare not, for there are also shots outside."
He added about 30 shots were fired.
